I wanted to shoot cherry blossoms in Washington, DC so much that I didn't care about the weather. Plus, I really don't like sunny days for shooting... When I arrived at the National Mall, the Tidal Basin was flooded near the Roosevelt Memorial toward the Jefferson Memorial. This photo kind of summed up the atmosphere. Thanks to:
- Jennifer Billock at Stacker.com for using this photo for position #9 (District of Columbia) in her May 8, 2019 article entitled, "States with the highest risk of flooding."

If there's one site in DC I should have spent more time shooting it's the US Supreme Court building. Every time a court ruling happens, the court goes in session, or one of the justices makes the news, there is a demand for photos. Almost all of my Supreme Court photos sell... Many thanks to:

One of the great things about living 20 away from DC was the ability to shoot subjects like the White House in different weather conditions. Washington DC is such an amazing place, I'd love to live there again almost as much as I'd love to live in Italy again. For some reason, putting "stormy" in to the photo's metadata helps this one sell. Weird... Thank you to:
- Joel Mathis at The Week for using this in his May 23, 2019 article entitled, "Pelosi's words suggest she knows it's time to impeach Trump. Will she act?" I'm glad they credited me on this photo because I probably wouldn't have recognized it, it's got a lot of effects and has been horizontally flipped.

Fake news? CNN Turkey used this article which evaluates Italian restaurants around the world and chose the Best 70 Pizza Restaurants in the World. Problem is that they're advertising for an authentic Italian pizzeria in Istanbul, Turkey with my photo of a pizza from Maryland, USA...

Living near DC meant I went there often, when you go somewhere like DC it's difficult to not shoot the same shots over and over. I would purposely not go inside places like the Jefferson Memorial, look for another way to shoot it from outside. Thank you to the National Association of Counties, or NACo, for using this photo as one of the backdrops on their US Election Analysis 2018 page in 2018!

Seriously, I don't know if it's good or bad and can see it both sides. Aside from that, thank you Rejuvenate Marine for using this photo for your boat cleaning products.

Virginia, in general, doesn't disappoint when it comes to autumn colors. This was taken near the American Civil War Battlefield at Manassas. The entire area is beautiful and worth the trip even if you're not a history nut like myself. A big thank you to Ready Jet Private Jet Charter for using this photo in December 2018 on their Manassas Homepage!

A childhood friend was kind enough to drive me around northern Wisconsin for the day so I could do nothing but be on the lookout for photo subjects, pretty cool! It was like Driving Miss Lazy, he did all the work and I stared out the window... Thanks to pianist Thomas Baynton for using my photo of a rusted 1940 DeSoto sitting on the side of the road near Algoma, WI for the cover of his album, After the Crash is available on Spotify, iTunes, and Amazon!

One of the earliest photo here, from 2013 and taken with a Canon T3i! I learned so much on the T3i that I'm considering one for my daughter as I'd think they'd be a steal at this point. It's a decent camera, durable, plus takes the Canon's EF and EF-s lenses. This was taken on an empty beach in Calabria, Italy in the month of May before the tourists came. Thanks to the Polish travel site Onet Podróże for using this in their June 8, 2018 article, "In Italy you can also reach the seashore via a paid beach."

Whenever I travel back home to Wisconsin I usually see a very good musician friend of mine, a childhood friend. We usually have coffee and then I take photos of the interesting stuff he has and he goofs off with my kids at a piano or something. Thanks to him I've gotten some great shots like this one of his saxophones! Many thanks to Elvy Sound Solutions in Ontario, Canada for putting this photo on their homepage.

The nose of a B-29 Superfortress taken at the Joint Base Andrews Airshow in 2017. I love shooting aircraft but shooting at airshows has become very difficult. Now, in order to sell these types of photos you now need proof of a press pass for that day. Needless to say, I probably will never get my hands on one of those... Let me say upfront, I have no control over the fact that these folks didn't credit me with this photo; however, it turns up in a reverse Google image search as mine plus this one would be nearly impossible to duplicate, I'm 100% sure it's mine. I loved living near Washington, DC because it allowed me to experiment with my camera. For every one of these photos that looked pretty cool, I've 30 or 40 that didn't work at all. The nice thing was I could just go back later and try again! Even though they didn't credit me, I'd still like to credit and thank:

One thing that amazes me is when I look at the photos of other photographer's is their ability to capture every day objects that most of us pass by daily without noticing. I have to work at it, it doesn't come as easy to me as it does for others, but that was the goal with this photo. A big thank you toVictory Cruise Lines for using this on their destination page for Green Bay, WI in January 2018.

Shipbuilders Credit Union in my hometown of Manitowoc, WI used five photos on various pages of their website! I'm incredibly proud whenever my photos are used back home but five at one site is pretty awesome. Thank you so much!

This pelican hands out at the pier at Oceanside, CA and loves to be fed by people who buy fish to feed him. I didn't buy fish, he wanted fish and I only wanted his photo, he hated me so this was as close as I could get... Thanks to the City of Oceanside for including this photo on their Visit Oceanside homepage in February 2019! Some Jews believe putting stones on a grave keeps the soul in this world while others believe they keep demons from getting into the graves. A stone does not die like flowers and can symbolize the permanence of memory and legacy.
