Historic Recruit
The stern of the USS Recruit, a US Navy training ship at the former Naval Training Center (NTC) at San Diego, CA. The Recruit was originally built as a two-thirds scale Dealey-class destroyer escort but was later remodeled as a Perry-class frigate. She served from 1949 in various capacities until 1997 when NTC San Diego closed. Now a California Landmark, Recruit is located near Liberty Station, the old Naval Training Center.
